Prize Winning Craft!

After watching Kirstie Allsopp's Handmade Britain last year I was finally brave enough to enter the local village show.  After much deliberation I decided to enter 5 classes including 3 bakes (Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle Loaf and Iced Marmalade Cake), a miniature flower arrangement (my first ever!) and a handcrafted greeting card which, shock horror, won THIRD PRIZE!  Very Happy with this outcome.

This card is available for purchase in my MISI shop.

Review: M&S Autograph Mattifying Primer

I was sceptical about something that claims to '...help your make-up stay in place...' but ignoring my inner pessimist I went ahead with my £12 purchase in the hopes that I wouldn't have to reapply anything other than lippy during the day, and wouldn't find my make-up all over the phone, the collar of my blouse or the bridge of my glasses!

It might seem a small tube for your money but I found I only really needed a tiny amount for it to be effective, and as it's in a clear tube you can keep appropriately stocked-up.  As M&S suggests it did also help to '...reduce the excess oil...' on the t-zone of my face.  It has a lovely smooth feeling as you put it on and did seem to make applying my foundation evenly that bit easier.

The real test was whether (or should I say weather) it would as it suggests '...help my make-up stay in place...', particularly in this unseasonably British SUMMER!  I'm pleased to report it did, my make-up didn't seem to evaporate off my face in either the heat of the sunshine or the awfully hot office, and there was no trace of it over the phone!  Eyeliner is a real issue for me, I always end up with broken lines at some point during the day but my eyeliner also stayed intact.

My verdict, a great addition to my beauty bag and regime.  9/10 KDS points (I do wish they did a bigger tube.)
