Faery Ink Facebook Contest

Before I get started you still have 5 days to enter my giveaway to win Kanban sheets.

In this post I would like to share with you my DT project for the Faery Ink Facebook Contest and this time it's a little different as we have a colour palette from which to choose your colours.  You need to include all of the colours in the palette above in your creation. No, it doesn't have to be the exact colour but you want to try to get pretty close, you can use additional colours if you like.  Please go to Facebook page and request the image from our DT Coordinator Valou.

This beautiful image is Granmargaret Fae.  I have coloured her using my Graph It markers in the following colours; Skin; 4120, 4150, 4155, 4170, Dress; 5220, 5245, 5250, 8270, 8280, 8290, Mushrooms & Butterflies; 2120, 2130, Eyes; 8120, Wings; 7105 & silver shaker, Hair; 3150, 3160, 3190, 5220, 5250.

I have backed the image on to gold lined paper, then on to green mirri from Creata, then on foam pads on to Kraft card from Anna Marie Designs.  The butterfly 3D sticker, ribbon bow, string and leaf ribbon are also from Creata (Natural Sense 1 and 4).  The mushrooms are cut from green metallic card and Winter Wishes Paper Bloc using Creata dies.

Faery Ink New Releases! - Winter

Winter is my second favourite season, and I love a snowy Winter.  So I am delighted to bring you my post with just one of the new releases from Faery Ink.  This image is snowball fight, I enjoy a good snowball fight, in fact any fun in the snow is just perfect!  Don't forget to check out the other new releases on the Faery Ink Blog .

I have used Graph It markers to colour the image (unfortunately my craft room is in disarray at the moment so I have misplaced the list of colours!)

The image is mounted onto foam pads on Creata mirri card and then on to Creata patterned card.  The gems are from my stash.  The snowflakes have been made from Creata Metallic card using one of the Creata Winter Wishes die.  I added Creata Joycrafts Natural Sense 1 Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Creata Winter Wishes clear stamps stamped on to Creata Metallic card using the Xcut Nesting Four Petal dies and distressed with Tim Holtz Broken China distress ink.  I have created the flowers by stamping Creata Metallic card with Creata Winter Wishes clear stamps, again cut using the Xcut Nesting Four Petal dies and brads from my stash.

Here's a close up of that beautiful image.
Ah so that's what happens when you tidy up!  Here are the GI colours I used; Skin; 4120, 4145, 4125, 4150, 4155 Lips; 5110,  Boys Hair; 1210, 1230, 1250 Eyes; 7125, Girl's Hair; 3125, 3140, 3170, 3190, Eyes, 3245, Ear Muffs, scarf & gloves; 6110, 6120, 6140, Jumper; 7220, 7240, 7250, Leggings; 9100, 9101, 9102, Boots; 9501, 9502, 9505, Jeans; 9100, 9101, 9102, T-shirt 9100, Boy's gloves, scarf & hat; 9201, 9203, 9205, coat; 5220, 5245, 5250, snow; 7105

Faery Ink Challenge # 3 - Christmas

Gosh is it really time for a new challenge on the Faery Ink blog, time flies when you're having fun, and I have been having fun with the Madonna & Child Christmas image from the Faery Ink shop.

I have to confess this is not the sort of image I would normally go for but as a crafter I like to work outside my comfort zone at times, and of course you need to make cards that appeal to a wide range of people.

I have tried not to use too many colours as I wanted to keep the image quite neutral.  Here are the Graph It markers I used (Skin; 4120, 4125, 4150, Hair 1210, 1230, 1250, 1280, Hair; 3125, 3140, 3160, 3170, Blanket, 7105, Cloak; 9100, 9101, 9102, Halo, 2120.

I wanted the Halo around the Madonna to really stand out so I cut it from the image, got out my foils from Foil Play, and then mounted it on foam pads.  The image is affixed to Creata metallic card edged with Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink, this is affixed to Creata Classic paper, then on to Creata  card and finally on to Creata silver mirri board.

My main objective with this card was to make the Halo the focus point.

I do hope you join in with the Faery Ink Challenge as all the DT really enjoy looking at your creations.  Crafty Blessings. x

DT Project - The Sisters of Craft November Challenge

I can't believe it's November already, November is another favourite month for me, not least because it's my birthday this month! Anyway I'm not here to gossip about me, it's time to share my Sisters of Craft November DT project.  I always feel more inspired this time of year which is why this month I have two projects to share, and they are a little seasonal.

Our  November Challenge is being sponsored by The Stamping Chef

I have used Krissy Kringle for my projects, and in case you are wondering this is exactly how I look when I wrap my Yule gifts! LOL.

The base is made from Kraft card, the image is printed on a super smooth card which I buy in bulk from Rymans just in case anybody was wondering, and oh surprise, surprise I have used my Graph Its to colour her, I do love my GIs!  (Skin; 4120, 4125, 4135, 4150, Outfit; 5215, 5220, 5250, 5255, 5245, 5260, 5270, Bells; 1280, Goldshaker, Eyebrows; 1230, Lips; 5245)

After tearing the edges of the card rather than cutting it square I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Festive Berries Distress Ink.  The Snow Kisses stamp is from the Creata Winter Wishes stamp set.  Using another piece of torn paper with inked edges I stamped Merry X-mas!!! from the Happy Holidays stamp set. I finished it off with a ribbon from my stash.

My other project is a Yule tag using the same image and again I have used Kraft card.  Krissy is coloured with the following GIs (Skin; 4120, 4125, 4135, 4150, Eyebrows; 1230, Eyes; 9100, 7250, Lips; 9100, Bells; 9100, Silver Shaker, Outfit; 7210, 7220, 7240, 7250).

The snowflakes are made with 3 of the smaller snowflakes from the Creata Winter Wishes stamp set using clear ink and Teal WOW embossing powder.  The tag loop is made using a piece of silver and white cord from my stash.  I must say I rather like that icy blue lipstick, not sure I would look quite a cool as Krissy does though!
