Winter Solstice

As a pagan I celebrate Winter Solstice and I also have some pagan friends so I like to make more nature orientated cards for them for Christmas.  This is one of the cards I made using the artwork of Karen Brown.  I really love her work, I bought one of her cards last year from Blackthorpe Barns, Suffolk on The Old Piggery Pottery stall.  They are based at Alder Carr Farm, Needham Market, Suffolk.  A fact you may not know about me, I used to live in Needham Market for about 6 years, and still love to visit, it's a very pretty village with lots of quirky little shops.
Getting back to my card, last year I used the card as my focal point for a handmade card so was very pleased to find more of her cards using the same style this year.  My friend also likes Hares hence this particular image.
I also found a cute little ceramic holly leaf brooch which I boxed and wrapped in brown paper and stamped with some Card-io stamps.
I have used Tim Holtz Forest Moss Distress Ink, Noor! Design diesAnna Marie Designs papers, white Gesso as snow, glossy accents on the berries and gems from my stash to add some twinkle.
The 8 x 8 card base is from my local craft shop Keep on Crafting.

Making Merry with Lelli-Bot Crafts Kits

Hello peeps, I hope you had a good Christmas, ours was busy but lots of fun and I received some lovely crafty and non-crafty gifts.  I wanted to share some of my Christmas cards before 2015 comes to an end.  Firstly here are 3 Lelli-bot Christmas cards using the Frosted Christmas and Merry Mono Christmas.
The first ones uses a scalloped 5 x 5 pre-scored card from The Works, Tim Holtz Faded Denim Distress Ink, a sentiment & sheet of 6 x 6 paper from the Lelli-bot Crafts Frosted Christmas kit, Spellbinders Shapeabilities Mix n Match ornaments dies & blue Metallic Sakura pen.

I have used black & white card, a sheet of 6 x 6 paper, sentiment, charm & ribbon from the Lelli-bot Crafts kit and red Metallic Sakura pen.

For the last card I have used black embossed card, sheet of 6 x 6 paper, button & sentiment again from the Lelli-Bot Crafts Merry Mono Christmas kit.
Thank you for all your comments during this year, it has been a pleasure to read them.   A few more Christmas cards to share tomorrow.

Faery Ink New Release - Steampunk Witch

Festive Greetings Everyone!

Faery Ink has a new release today so whilst I'm enjoying Mince Pies, pulling Crackers and singing Christmas songs at the top of my voice I have scheduled this post to go live.  Whichever day you may be reading this on I hope your Yule is a good one.
I was so pleased when Amanda gave me this image as my new release.  I love anything witchy and steampunk so Steampunk Witch is perfect for me.  I really love the express on here face, to me she seems deep in concentration.  Obviously cogs are a natural embellishment to use with this card and that couple with her expression I thought maybe she is using telekinesis so my thought process behind this was she is controlling all the pieces to bring them together to complete the gears.

I have coloured Steampunk Witch using Graph It markers; Skin; 4120, 4125, 4135, 4150, 4155, Lips, 5220, Eyes; 3160, Hat; 9303, 9201, 9203, 9205, Outfit; 9303, 9201, 9203, 9205, 6150, Hair; 2170, 3160, 5220, 5240, 5255.  I have added Sakura glaze & souffle gelly roll pens to her goggles and buckles.
I have used the Gear dies from Noor! Design UK and cut the pieces from Creata lined paper.  I have even used the off cut pieces.  I have also used some really chunky glitter pieces.
I have cut around the frame on the digi and coloured the background using Faded Jeans distress ink.
I do hope you will pop over to the

Faery Ink Inspiration - Bella Love Peace and Happiness

Today I'm sharing my Faery Ink inspiration using Bella Love, Peace and Happiness.

I started with an 8 x 8 card base from Keep on Crafting, my local craft store in Bury St Edmunds. I have sprayed it with Plain Jane Rosey Matte Sheer (also from Keep on Crafting) and Cosmic Shimmer Midnight blue, Golden Mint & Lilac Night.
Bella Love Peace & Happiness is coloured using Graph It markers Skin; 4120, 4125, 4135, 4150, 4155, Hair; 4115, 4155, 4180, 3130, 3170, 3190, Lips; 5280, Eyes; 3150, Peace Sign, flowers & hearts; Glaze Sakura pens.
I have fussy cut Bella and all the elements and fixed them with Cosmic Shimmer glue.
Using a Stampin' Up punch I punched some pieces from a patterned sheet from My-Thyme Colouring Book Volume 2 and coloured them with Sakura Metallic gelly pens.
I cut a slit and folded them to create flowers and added glitter to the centres.
To make this look like an album cover I glued and old CD inside and cut away a piece from the side using the same punch.

Dad's birthday card and Halloween candy winner!

Apologies it has taken me so long to pick a winner for the Halloween candy but I have a few health worries but yesterday I had some good news and am feeling a lot more relaxed and like my old self!

The winner of my candy was picked by the random generator, the winner is one of my regular visitors;
CAROL from Crafty-Stamper

Congratulations Carol please send an email with your address to tracy.welham@sky.com so I can post out your prize.

Now on to my project, my dad is one of those awkward people who has a birthday in December - haha!  I try to avoid Christmasy looking cards for people with birthdays in December and for this card I used the Country Treasures paper kit which I think is from Tattered Lace.  I have had this in my stash for a while now but this is it's first outing!

I started with an 8x8 base card from Keep on Crafting, which is my local craft shop in Bury St Edmunds.  I have layered it with a sheet of patterned paper.  I have mat and layered the image on Anna Marie Designs black card.  I edged all the cards, papers and image in Forest Moss Distress Ink.
The owl image is decoupaged, and I have added some burlap from my stash and Anna Marie Designs natural moss to make a little nest.
The sentiment is from the kit I have coloured it with Forest Moss distress ink and added burlap strings & peg from my stash and stamens & dried flowers from Anna Marie Designs.
I used Cuttlebug Typewriter alphabet dies to personalise the card.
To finish it off I added a different scene from the same sheet also edged with Forest Moss DI and mounted on Anna Marie Designs black card.

Faery Ink Facebook Contest - Red, Green & Gold

A new Facebook Contest is happening in the Faery Ink Facebook Group and the theme is Red, Green & Gold.  I have chosen Holiday Tree Destiny.  Destiny got a bit carried away with her Christmas decorations, doesn't her hair look so pretty though?  I decided to make a tag this time.
I have used the following Graph It markers; Skin; 4120, 4125, 4135, 4150, 4155, dress; 5240, 5245, 5250, eyes; 3125, hair; 3140, 3150, 3180, 3125, belt; 1250, top & gloves; 8260, 8280, lips; 5245
The backing card is Anna Marie Designs Kraft card.  I have edged the image with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  I have added felt holly from The Works and ribbon and bells from my stash.
I have used Pinflair glue and coloured two more layers to her skirt.
I also layered up her fur piece and added some white pen to highlight it.

Simple Steampunk

Think I might have mentioned once or twice that I'm a huge fan of Lelli-bot Crafts kits.  I always like to take part in the challenge and this month it's a simple recipe; 1 topper, 1 design paper and 1 embellishment.

I was lucky enough to win last months challenge and picked the Steampunk topper and paper pack so I have used the paper and topper from that kit.  The charm is from the Gothic Lace kit, I stitched it onto the topper.  The topper is adhered using Pinflair glue.  I cut up, crumpled, folded and distressed the paper using scissors and Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink, I've also edged the topper in this ink.  The card base is from the Fantasy Dragons kit.
I wish to enter this into the following challenge(s);

A Couture Birthday

Well I did it again... I cut into my Graphic 45 papers!  I would like to say that it gets easier the more you do it but I'd be telling fibs!  However I made this for my dad to give to my mum for her birthday so it was worth all the cutting up.

I used the Couture paper pad and a gem heart, silver beaded chain, a pearl heart (all from my stash) which I coloured with a black Graph It marker and used some glossy accents on the printed beads.
