Faery Ink Inspiration - Witchball

Well that's another month done and dusted!  To finish off the month it's my turn to share my inspiration over on Faery Ink.  I have used Witchball which is one of this month's new releases, isn't she fab, I love her flowing locks!

  • Anna Marie Designs black card stock
  • Dandelion & Daisy designer papers cut into a doily using Martha Stewart Circle Edge Punch
  • Gems from my stash  added to the centre of the flowers on the doily
  • Silver & purple twine and black card cat button from my stash
  • Glossy accents on the crystal ball
The little Book of Shadows is made from Anna Marie Designs kraft card inked with Tea Dye distress ink and crumpled, pages from an old charity find book.  The spine is stitched with cooper coloured twine and stamped with the symbols for the God & Goddess and a cauldron.

I have coloured Witchball using the following Graph It markers;

Skin; 4120, 4125, 4155, 4170, Eyes; 3245, 3250, Hair; 3120, 3130, 3140, Lips; 5280, Hat & Cloak; 6110, 6120, 6130, 6140, 6175, Necklace & Hat Element; 7160

You can buy Witchball at the Faery Ink shop, check out more creations on the blog and join the Facebook group.
Until next time, creative blessings, x

A New Chapter...

... needs a New Book!

A bestie of mine is moving away from the local area and I wanted to give her a gift with a difference. Like me she loves books so I thought I would give her a book that would turn out to be all about her "The Big Book of Amy..."

(I took this photo before I edged the letters in Vintage Photo distress ink and coloured the ribbon closure with a Graph It marker)
  • Scrapbook from Hobbycraft
  • Creata 12 x 12 papers
  • Coordinations card

I have created one page in the scrapbook, it documents the day we visited the Kentwell Hall Mid-Summer Event.  I used a sheet of 12 x 12 from the Dovecraft Charcoal Prints collection.  I then took one of my photos of the main building in to Serif, blended it, printed on A3, trimmed it down and just kissed the edge with a hint of Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink.

I distressed and aged the photos using Serif, and used embellishments from various Daisytrail digikits and did some journalling.  Instead of using brads to fix the tags I used double sided tape and card candi to avoid marking or damaging the other papers when the book is shut.

My friend was very pleased, and I can wait to see what she adds to it.

Winter Fun with Noor! design

After my summery make that I shared on Wednesday I had to balance it out with a Wintery one.   As lots of you know I love snow, and these winter Noor! dies are some of my favourites.

I have used Anna Marie Designs white cardstock.  I made a snowflake template using a Noor! Designs die and used this to create the background pattern (it's a little difficult to see from the photograph) using Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

This image is from Debbi Moore Designs 100 vintage christmas images.  I have mounted it on Anna Marie Designs black cardstock.

The hat and mittens are Noor! dies cut from white cardstock and coloured using TH Faded Jeans DI.

The skates and sledge are Noor! dies cut from black coordinations cardstock.  The backing papers are from a Creata pad and edged with TH Faded Jeans DI.  I used a hole punch and ribbons from my stash to create the tags.

My first White on White

Morning friends and followers!  Can you believe it's almost another week gone, I hope it's been a good one for you.  I've been packing a few more boxes ready for the move I'm almost at the point where I can't pack anymore as it's things we might need but we are just waiting for one last piece of paperwork and then we are off...

This week I tried something different I made a white on white card, it's also my first pop-up card.

I have used Anna Marie Designs cardstock, a thin satin ribbon, Tattered Lace 'Congratulations' die, wide satin ribbon which I then edged with lace.  I constructed the fan from a doily and the heart button is from The Works.

The pop-up carriage is created using a Joy! die.  I have added satin ribbon, grosgrain ribbon and hand-tied a lace bow.

The butterfly was created using a Woodware punch with two pins for the antenna.  The hearts are part of the pop-up die.  The 'With Love' is a Tattered Lace die.

Summer Fun with Noor! Design

I've set myself a challenge to plough through my extensive paper stash and start using up some of the colours that I wouldn't normal pick out.  I'm not a fan of orange or really bright pink but they do look very summery.

I have added ribbon, string, twine and a gem from my stash.

For this make I have used the Under the Sea, Seashore, Fashion Hat and Perfume bottle (which I made into a bottle of sunscreen) dies from Noor!.  Noor! Design dies are my favourite dies, there are so many clever little elements, I particularly love these shells.

The image is from Under the Sea 10 x 10 pad also from Noor! Design.  The edge is distress using Hougie distressing tool, mounted on black Anna Marie Designs cardstock and edged with dots made using White shaker Graph It marker.

Altered Recipe Box

This recipe box was bought for me by my mum, it's great because it uses index cards and is compact.

I'm slowing transferring all my recipes, which are currently stored in a folder which has seen better days, to the cards.
A few of my recipes including one for Guilt Free Chocolate from my friend Amy!
However I felt compelled to give this little box bit of KD Soul!

I have used some of my favourite dies for this make, the Bakery dies from Noor! Design.  These are so quirky and different.  I have added some Tea Dye Distress Ink to the bread and croissant dies cuts.

The papers are also from the Noor! Design Bakery range.

The images are vintage freebies from Old Design Shop.

I have used Decopatch glue as it's a good strong glue and gives a slight varnish too.  I used an emery board to given a rough texture to the tin to help the glue stick.

Time Flies

This card was made for one of my bestie's that is moving, in fact she is starting a whole new life, moving away from the local area, to a new home with a new boyfriend!  I chose the Time Flies kit from Craftwork Cards as we have only know each other a few years but it seems like so much longer, we don't always get to meet up as often as we would like but when we do it's as if we only saw each other yesterday.

I used one sheet from the Time Flies kit as the base with elements cut from an identical sheet.  The butterflies are mounted using Cosmic Shimmer glue in the centres leaving the wings free from adhesive.  The centre is cut and curled using a pencil.  Another sheet from the same pad creates the backgound to the aperture.

The centre butterfly is two die cut elements.  The pocket watches are adhered using Pinflair and I coated them with Ranger Crackle Glaze.

The sentiment is a die cut tag from the kit which I have glazed with Glossy Accents.  I have finished a corner with Card Candi.

I didn't have any 8 x 8 cards so I used a sheet of A3.

Lelli-Bot Upcycle!

A new challenge started this month, the Lelli-Bot Crafts Challenge.  It's anything goes but you must use Lelli-Bots products.  My regular readers will know that I love Lelli-bots!

I like upcycling ordinary items for storage for my crafts, like jam jar for buttons.  It won't be a surprise to some of you that I love Scottish jam and whilst this jar is quite pretty I think it needed Lelli-botting!

For the first jar I have used a sheet of paper and topper from the Fantasy Dragon Lelli-bot kit which I edged with Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink.

The label is cut from another sheet from the kit using Crafter's Companion Die'sire Tags 1 Die and I made paper "brads" Xcut palm 0.9cm circle punch.

I added black string and a red gem from the kit to the lid.

My second jar uses 3 sheets from the Fantasy Dragon Lelli-bot kit.  I used the Xcut palm 0.9cm circle punch to make the scales for the lid.

The scales for the jar were made using a Woodware Trimmer with the Scalloped blade to make strips from a sheet from the kit, and I cut a circle for the bottom.  I used Decopatch by Paper Patch glue.

I know some crafters don't like kits but they don't have to be used just to makes cards they are as versatile as your imagination allows!  Besides that, Lelli-bot kits are so unique and are jam-packed (sorry for the pun!) with goodies.

Here are few more pics of my Lelli-botted jars.

Faery Ink New Release - Ragdoll Faery

This sweet Faery Ink image called 'Ragdoll Faery' is being released today!  I think she is super cute and since she is a ragdoll I have paper pieced her using papers from Creative Crafting World's Mix & Match Papercrafting Collection CD-rom and given here a washi tape background to give the card a material type look.

I have used the Visible Image Sewing Room set to add the stitches and the tape measure.  I have used Graph It markers to colour her face and hair.
