Labrador & Robin - Pollyanna Pickering

Good Morning Crafters!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the daughter of friends.  They have a brown Labrador who she dotes on and loves to play with our Fergus, so I thought this would make a perfect card for her.  It's another fabulous image from Pollyanna Pickering and both, this topper sheet and the backing paper, were from Foil Play

The Merry Christmas die was a freebie with Papercrafter magazine.

I haven't quite managed to perfect the drop shadow on die cuts yet.

As this is my last card for 2017 all that is left for me is to wish you all the best for 2018 and thank you for your support over the last year, and I would love it if you would continue to support me in the new year.

Not Quite a Newfie!

Good Morning Peeps!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.  This is the last day of our holiday in Scotland, this is my most favourite place and I shall be very sad to travel home tomorrow.

Today I am sharing a card I made for friends in Denmark who have 3 Newfoundlands.  I had to go with this image of a dog pulling a tree on a sledge, this is something you can see the Newfoundlands do in various places, the closest one to us is at Elveden.

I found the image, sentiment and papers in my stash.  The stamp is from the Woodware Sparkly Tress stamp set and stamped with Moonlight White Archival Brilliance ink.

Good Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing another card made using the Studio Light booklet I purchased at Crafting Live Peterborough.

The red backing papers is from Annamarie Designs and the snowflake stamp is by Noor! Design, I have used Iced Spruced distress oxide for stamping.

As this is my last crafty post before Christmas I shall wish you all Yuletide Blessings and I hope you have a wonderful festive period.  My next post will be on the 27 December.

Vintage Girl - Studiolight

Good Morning Peeps!

I am doing a little last minute packing as we are off to Scotland for Christmas, we have been before at this time of year but never for Christmas Day and I am so excited it's ridiculous, and of course I am hoping for a white Christmas!

Today I am sharing a Christmas card made using elements from a Studiolight booklet that I picked up at Crafting Live Peterborough.

Studiolight is one of my favourite brands and I first fell in love with it when Carley Duff used it on Create and Craft along with the Noor! Design dies quite a few years ago now. There is something about the Dutch brands that I just can't resist.

I have also used a script stamp from my stash and a Mixed Media stamp MM218 also from Studio Light with Jet Black Archival and Rich Cocoa Momento Inks.

On Sunday we are meeting up with friends so we can go for a walk with our dogs down to the beach, I love a festive beach walk.

Here is today's card which is for my mum from my dad, it hints at a family joke!

I have used a 7 x 7 base card and smooth glitter card from Keep on Crafting.  The sentiment is from the Woodware Yew and Holly stamp set using Picked Raspberry distress ink and the dots are made with Ranger Enamel Accents all from Keep on Crafting.

Pollyanna Pickering - Christmas Moments Spaniel and Land Rover

Good Morning Crafters

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  We went to the Stratford Upon Avon Christmas Fayre which was beautiful, it had snowed and was very cold, so also felt very festive.

Today I am sharing the Christmas card I made for my sister and her husband.  I purchased the topper sheet from Foil Play, it is a design by Pollyanna Pickering and comes with the backing paper and card.

The observant amongst you will have noticed that the vehicle is a Land Rover and I have mentioned on more than one occasion that my brother-in-law is a LR enthusiast.  I was inspired to make this after seeing the print hanging in the holiday home we stayed in during my sister's Wedding, so it seemed very apt.

The trees are a Noor! Design die which I have sponged with white gesso.

Crystal Art Christmas Owls card

Good Morning Crafters!

I thought I had almost finished my Christmas cards but as I was writing them realised I was a few short, so I made up one of the Crystal Art cards in super quick time which has helped get me back on track.  Just half a dozen left to make but mostly for family and friends I will be meeting up with so no need to worry about posting dates.

I picked these cute Christmas owls which took me less than 20 minutes to complete.

Keep on Crafting Blog Makes 29th-30th Nov

Hello Crafters!

Not much planned for today apart from maybe a little gift wrapping for Christmas.

As it's mid-week I'm sharing my makes for the Keep on Crafting shop blog from last week.

First up is a Christmas bauble.  The bauble was an inexpensive one from the supermarket and was a set of 8.  I used the Katy Sue Designs Holly and Mistletoe mould, Pebeo acrylic paints and John Next Door sentiment stamp from Winter Trees.

My next make uses the other half of my background from the mixed media time card and a topper from the Hunkydory Little Book of Woodland Wonder and Woodware stamps from the Being Positive set.

Elephant birthday card - Pollyanna Pickering

Good Morning Peeps!

I hope you had a good weekend.  Before the Christmas festivities really kick off there are a couple of birthdays.  the first one is my dad and it's his birthday today so no prizes for guessing that I'm sharing his birthday card!

I may have mentioned before that my dad's favourite animals are elephants and I think Pollyanna Pickering is the best artist of animals so I picked a few elephant topper sheets from Foil Play.  It took me a while to decide which to use but I finally settled on this one.

The back papers are also from a Pollyanna Pickering paper kit.  The camera and film are dies by Noor! Design.

Birthday Blog Candy Giveaway

Hello Crafters

I have no idea where this year is going, Autumn has whizzed by and we are now heading full pelt into Winter, I absolutely adore this time of year but it just goes too fast!

The most recent project to keep me extremely busy is this Crystal Art Craft Buddy logo.  I was so pleased to be asked to do this, as of course it's a one off and will be at all the shows.  It took quite a few days over two weeks but to see the sparkle was worth it. Fortunately I had some help from my hubby on occasions and my mum and sister when they came over for Halloween.  Crystal Art are currently show casing at the NEC and you can find all their products here.

60 x 70 cm canvas, with each crystal measuring just 3mm.

Although the year has flown by there is still lots to look forward including this Sunday, 5th November as it's my birthday, which means it's time for my annual blog candy giveaway.  This year I have two packages to giveaway; a cardmaking/papercraft package and a mixed media package.

- The only requirement to enter the giveaway is to leave a comment on this post.  If you wish you can let me know which package you would prefer but I can't guarantee you will received this, if picks two entrants who want the same package I will have to randomly pick who recieves which parcel.

- This giveaway is open to all my regular commenters from home and abroad.

- No giveaway hunters please, you will not be included.

- Closing date is 30th November. Good Luck!

Quick Felt Elves

Good Morning Crafters!

Are you crafting for Christmas?  To my complete surprise I've almost finished all my Christmas cards and will posting a lot of them on Festive Friday (1st Dec).  Being ahead of myself, I decided to stitch together this year's felt kit, hubby gets me one every year, it's become a tradition.  He bought me my first one whilst I was going through my breast cancer treatment in 2013, it was nice to be able to complete some crafting but not have to riffle through my stash and I could finish quickly.

This year's kit is a set of two elves, all the pieces are cut and ready to stitch, their hair, face and clothes are cut from adhesive felt.  The kit comes with a plastic needle so it's suitable for children too.  These will go on our tree in the lounge which is full of colourful, quirky and handmade decorations.

Craft Buddy Crystal Art Motif - DT Projects

Good Morning Crafters

Today I'm sharing my most recent make for Craft Buddy Crystal Art.  These little motifs are super cute and so quick to make, and would make excellent stocking fillers.  I have already added these to my own shopping list for a friend's little girl.  You always get plenty of crystals for your project, so you have lost of spares to add to other projects.

There are a few designs to pick from, I recived the Penguin, Snowflake and Tree.

Once you have stuck your crystals on (the sheet is sticky and the crystals stick easily) just peel the motif off, the backing is clear and add to your project. They can be used on cards, tags, home decor, canvases, bags, phone cases and many more items that I probably haven't even thought of!

I used the snowflake to make a simple festive hanging decoration, using matt silver card and a Spellbinders die.

I thought the Christmas tree was crying out for snow, so I used a snowglobe card and some polar white Flower Soft to make a shaker card.  I used the left over Crystals for the card front and added a peel off sentiment.

I used the penguin to make a festive bookmark using dotty acetate from Anna Marie Designs and a tassel from Joanna Sheen - who doesn't want a cute festive bookmark right!

All quick and simple sparkly makes done in under an hour.

The Motifs will be available at the Excel over the next four days, launched on Hochanda on the 25th November and available on the website shortly thereafter.

A Weekend Full of Craft!

Good Morning Crafters

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  Mine was very crafty, on Saturday I attended a workshop with my mum at Keep on Crafting in Bury St Edmunds.  The workshop was run by Margaret and included all the materials for the class.  We made these beautiful festive house shadow boxes using Paperartsy and Starlight paints, Craft Creations papers, festive wooden pieces and charms. I'm going to add some lights to mine similar to the set Margaret used on her sample.

My festive house.
My mum's festive house.
We have many more workshops scheduled from November to March, including ones tutored by John Lockwood and Kay Carley of Paperartsy.  Click the link to book a place.

On Sunday I attended Crafting Live at Peterborough, I purchased a few bits and piece for myself and a few Christmas gifts. It was a fun day out and there were lots of "Makes and Takes" available, the ticket price was reasonable, it only cost me £3 as I bought before the event with my Create and Craft discount, parking is free, the one thing that does let it down is the cost of food.  It's a pain to carry food around with you so I choose to buy there, however choice is very limited and it's very expensive.

Here are my purchases minus the christmas gifts plus a couple freebie packs.

7 Days of Halloween - Day 1 - ATC Halloween Swap

Hello Crafters

I love Halloween (or Samhain as it's known in the Wiccan community) and I have had so much fun making a few Halloween projects which I will be sharing over the next seven days.  Today I'm sharing my first make for my Seven days of Halloween. This month I signed up to do a Halloween swap over at the Faery Ink Facebook group.  It's been a while since I've taken part in a swap or made any ATCs, I really enjoyed making these and putting together a small swap parcel.

The images are from Faery Ink and are two of my favourites, Gabbie Vamp and Ghost Lenore, I believe they are now retired.  I watercoloured them with Distress Markers.
