Spring Tag Swap

Good Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing two Spring tags I made for a swap on Facebook - unfortunately my partner never got back to me with their address so they haven't been swapped which is disappointing.

I have used some more of my uninked stamps and also done a little bit of recycling.

The first one uses Cactus and Mimosa Izink Pigment inks (the bottles not the pads) on to acetate with a spritz of white spirit to help spread the inks.  The stamped image is another unused freebie from a magazine.  I stamped the same design on white cardstock from Creative Crafting World and painted the image with the same Izinks.  They are pinned together with a brad from my stash.  The sentiment is from The Rose Garden Collection, a freebie stamp set from Creative Stamping magazine.

I would like to enter this into the following challenge(s);

The second tag uses an image I have printed from Pollyanna Pickering's Countryside Collection CD-rom.  The background to the tag is created using Forest Friends and Cottontail Capers Card-io stamps and Memento Cocoa ink.  The sentiment is stamped using the same ink on one of the mats from the CD-rom, this was the Vintage Springtime set, another freebie from Creative Stamping magazine. The cord is an old broken shoe lace.

Lynx & cub - Pollyanna Pickering

Good Morning Crafters

I hope you had a nice weekend.  I was playing dress-up!  Last year for my birthday my sister bought me a voucher for a vintage photo shoot and that's where I was on Saturday, it was great fun and I have some wonderful photos.

Today's card uses another sheet from the Pollyanna Pickering Walk in the Wild papercrafting kit from Creative Crafting World.

The sentiment, image, patterned papers and black cardstock are all from Creative Crafting World.  The 7 x 7 card blank is from Keep on Crafting

Good Morning Peeps

Happy Friday!  Today I'm sharing a gallant knight in the form of cross stitch, another one of those I found recently that I stitched a while ago.   I have mounted him on black cardstock from Creative Crafting World.

I have used mat silver cardstock as the base card also from Creative Crafting World.  The sentiment is another from the freebie set that came with Making Cards magazine stamped with Jet Black archival ink. The kit is by Mouseloft.

Get Well Soon - Popcorn

Morning Crafters

I hope you had a lovely weekend, we went out and about enjoying the Winter sunshine.  On Friday I was having a sort out of my craftroom and found a box of cross stitched pieces I stitched a few years ago.  I decided to put the pieces I found onto cards.

This is Popcorn the bear, he used to be quite a popular character especially in cross stitch and he has his own facebook page here.

I have simply frayed the edges mounted him on chocolate cardstock from Creative Crafting World and then on to Kraft card from Anna Marie Designs.

The sentiment is a free stamp from Making Cards magazine using Cocoa Memento Ink.  As Popcorn is holding his blanket I thought the 'get well' sentiment was appropriate.

I would love to know if any of you stitch and if you use stitching in your papercrafting?

Happy Birthday - using free stamps & dies

Good Morning Crafters

I hope you have some lovely plans for the weekend.  We shall be doing some more decorating of the cloakroom.

Today's card is a birthday card for my friend's little boy who turned one on 14th February.

The happy birthday sentiment is from a freebie set that came with Creative Stamping magazine.  The Winnie the Pooh stamp and die also came free with a magazine, as did the balloon die.  Winnie the Pooh and the balloon are coloured with pencils.

The is the first time I have used these stamps and dies.  I'm on a mission to "break-in" uninked stamps and virgin dies, and magazine freebies!

The inks I used are Jet Black Archival, Cornflower Blue Archival, Jet Black Dovercraft Pigment together with Papermania Clear Embossing Powder.

Making Miniatures

Hello Fellow Crafters

Today I'm sharing something a little different, a miniature 1/12th scale floral scroll hearth rug which I made for my dad.  He is in the middle of decorating his second dolls house.  Last time I made him some miniature stitched pieces, you can see those here.

This isn't stitched I'm not sure if the technique has a name but I did take some work in progress photos to help show the process.

After tracing the design on to the webbing and iron it on to the material I took the bunka threads and pulled the ends so they unravel.  I used Dovecraft dries clear glue to stick the bunka on to the design.

The technique was tricky to start with but once I got the hang of it and used on light pressure to stick the bunka in place it become quite easy.

I managed to complete it in just one afternoon.

Card-io - Hello Squirrel

Good Morning!

I hope you had a good weekend.  We made some progress with the cloakroom, we decided to rip out the floor tiles. We were going to leave them and just tile the walls but we decided we would prefer both floor and walls to be the same.

Today I wanted to share a card I made using the Forest Friends and Winter Trees stamp sets from Card-io.

The sentiment is from a freebie set that came with Making Cards magazine.  I have used Sepia Archival Ink and Forest Moss Distress Ink.  The cream and chocolate cardstock is from Creative Crafting World. I borrowed the dies from my mum.

Brooklyn Bridge

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

I can now share the Crystal Art Design Team Canvas I was busy doing last week.  It's a full crystal 50x40cm canvas of Brooklyn Bridge. Lots colour changes on this one but I think it was worth it, especially to create the lights in the tower blocks and the reflections in the water.

Keep on Crafting Shop Blog Makes 30th Jan

Good Morning Crafters

It's time for my mid-week Keep on Crafting shop makes share.

I'm addicted to using this Old Oak Tree stamp set.  I used a variety of distress oxides to create the seasons and Memento inks for the foilage.

My other make for last week was this mixed media frame. This is number 4 in my Reuse, Recyle series as I used sandpaper for the background.
