Steampunk Tags

Good Morning

Happy Friday!  Here in the UK today and Monday are holidays, unfortunately the weather looks as if it is going to be rather wet which is pretty much normal for a UK bank holiday!  Still that doesn't mean we can have some fun, we have a trip to the cinema booked for Sunday so at least that's one event that can go ahead rain or shine.

On to today's share which is two steampunk tags I made for a swap in a Facebook group.

My first tag base is a piece of corrugated card from packaging. I added text from an old book and painted it with Imagination Crafts Rusty Patina Rustique & Verdigris from Keep on Crafting. The sprockets topper is from Linda Simpson Designs.  I have also used one of the Tim Holtz Paper Dolls.  The key is a greyboard piece also painted with the rusty patina paints.  The pocketwatch is from Snipart and I have cut one of the butterfly pieces from Tim Holtz Botanical collection for the wings.  The half cog is from paper clay.  The 'lightbulb' is a safety pin.

My second tag is a recycled card envelope painted with rusty patina.  The door hinge and wings are greyboard, the cog is an MDF piece from Craft Buddy (Dawn Bibby Creations), the keyhole is paper clay all painted with rusty patina.  The vellum pieces and image are from Debbi Moore Steampunk CD.  The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Quote Chip.

Butterfly Wishes - Lavinia Stamps

Good Morning

In an effort to use some more of my uninked stamps I decided to dig into my Lavinia Stamps.  For this card I have used 4 different sets.

I created the background with torn strips of paper and distress oxides.  This is mounted on to black cardstock from Creative Crafting World. The third layer is a mop-up sheet from the distress oxides.  The images are embossed with clear embossing powder.

Crystal Art Motifs

Good Morning

Today I am sharing more Crystal Art but this time it's something a little different.  It's three of the motifs that launch on the website today, and as you will see they are not just for cardmaking.

For the card I have used a white 7 x7 card blank, a piece of ribbon from my stash (originally part of an item of a piece of jewellery) and mat and layered the cat on a piece of silver matt mirri and black cardstock both from Creative Crafting World.  I used the extra crystals to decorate the die cut, (the die Iused was a bootsale find so I don't know the make).  The stamp is a freebie from Making Cards magazine and stamped in Jet Black Archival ink.

I wish to enter this cat card into the following challenge;

For the owl I decided to decorate a brown paper bag from Keep on Crafting with a feather stamp (a freebie from a magazine) and Sepia Archival Ink.  I have used a wooden disc also from Keep on Crafting to create a tag, the sentiment stamp is from the same free set.

I wish to enter this bag in Penny's Papercrafty Challenge - Anything Goes - http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/03/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-372.html

For my final design piece I decided to create a scrapbook layout.  I took this photo on a trip to Kentwell hall with a friend.  I have altered it to show the Peacock as a splash of colour on the black and white in my Craft Artist Software.  This is mounted on satin cardstock and then a piece of Coredinations card embossed with the Baroque Frame Day of The Dead folder by Sheena Douglass.  I have added the extra gems around the edge.  The page is from an 8 x 8 ringbound journal covered with black cardstock.  The patterned card is from Trimcraft Laurence Llewelyn Bowen Collection.  The peacock itself is stuck to some matt mirri card.

Fishy Theme Mini Marvel

Good Morning Crafters

A few weeks ago I signed up to a Go Fish swap on Facebook in the Mini Marvels group, we could make anything as long as it was mini and followed a fish theme. I found this cross stitched Nemo in my stash a few weeks ago.

The background is a scrap from my Distress Oxides scrap box.  I have stamped seaweed using Memento Pistachio and Olive Grove inks and a stamp from Ultimate Crafts The Cardmakers Collection Sea Breeze magazine.

The stitching is adhered with Pinflair 3D glue gel.  The sequins also came with the magazine.  I used Katy Sue Designs Seashells and Seahorses moulds and Hearty air dry clay.  I coloured the shells with Brown Wink of Stella and Sweet Poppy Strawberry Sorbet Metallic Shimmer and Sheen Lustre Paint.  The seahorse is coloured with Imagination Crafts Starlight Metallic paint in Salmon.

ATC Swap Letter S

Good Morning

Today I am sharing three more ATCs.  This time the letter is S, if you know me well enough you won't be surprised that my first thought was Snow!  As I have done before I wanted to link the cards in some way so for my other two I decided on Spring and Summer.

For the Snow ATC I used a vintage image I printed a while ago, the background is VersaMagic Aspen Mist.  I inked my craft mat and spritz it with water.  For the "snow" I used Sweet Poppy Pearlescent paste through John Next Door Duo Mask Argyle.

The Spring ATC background is a flower stamp from the Crafting Together by Lizzy and Rosella in VersaMagic Thatched Straw and Rabbit stamps from Card-io Collection Cottontail Capers with VersaMagic Gingerbread.  The vintage image is from an ATC booklet I bought sometime ago, I have also edged this with Aspen Mist.

Finally for my Summer ATC I have used distress inks; Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed, Broken China, Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans to create the background.  The image is from another ATC booklet. The flower is stamped on black cardstock using Versamagic in Aspen Mist and Night Sky.

The S letter is cut from an Alphabet die set that was free with Papercrafter magazine.

First 2018 Yule card

Good Morning Crafters

Today I am using another uninked stamp, this time from the Reindeer Damask stamp set from Chocolate Baroque, which my hubby picked up from a boot sale - lucky me!

The backgound is created using Brusho and Paper Artsy Gloss Glaze and an old credit card, it was a technique taught to me by Chris Stevens from Keep on Crafting.

The image is stamped using Versamark Watermark stamp pad and Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

The snowflakes are from the same stamp set using Wilted Violet and Broken China Distress Oxides.  The image is layred on to a mat silver cardstock from Creative Crafting World cut with a die from my mum's stash.

Have a fantastic weekend and creative blessings.  x

May Your Day Bloom With Happiness!

Good Morning Crafters

I hope you had a lovely weekend.  On Saturday we went on a Snowdrop walk to celebrate Mothering Sunday, my mum loved it and I have some nice photos to share, so expect to see those on my digital scrapbook/art blog in the coming weeks.

Today's crafty make is using a background made using Izinks on acetate and another small piece of cross stitch.  The sentiment is from the Decorative Roses Stamp set which was free with Creative Stamping Magazine.

Butterfly Pocket Card

Good Morning Crafters

I hope you have a fantastic weekend and if you are celebrating Mothers Day I wish a very happy one.  We shall be going on a snowdrop walk with my parents and the dogs, weather permitting!

Today I am sharing another card made using my final uninked set of Chocolate Baroque stamps, Butterfly Poppy Collage.

The papers are Prima, Fairy Belle 6 x 6 paper pad (another boot sale find I think) which I distressed with my scissors, I have a proper tool somewhere but it has been lost in the black hole that is the craft room!

The butterflies are stamped with Sepia Archival Ink and coloured with distress markers; Victorian Velvet, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Spun Sugar and Brushed Corduroy.

The sentiment is from Annamarie Designs Rose Drop stamp set.  I have mounted the topper onto chocolate brown cardstock from Creative Crafting World.

You will see I have made a pocket in the front for a gift card.

ATC Swap Letter M

Good Morning Peeps

I hope you had a good weekend.  Today I am sharing some more ATCs for another swap on Facebook, this time the letter was M.  My partner has received them so it's ok to share them here.

The first item to come to mind was Map, if you are a regular to my blog you will know that I like to recycle various items and have used Atlas pages in my projects in the past.

To tie the three cards together I decided on a maritime theme and created the other two cards using a Mermaid stamp (another stamp finally used!) and Moon.

Materials used;
Mermaid, rope stamps, sequins - Ultimate Crafts The Cardmakers Collection Sea Breeze magazine.
Graph It Markers
Wink of Stella pens
Starlight Paints - Sand

Sorry for the dodgy photos, Serif decided to crash whilst I was adding my watermark. I had deleted the original photos from my SD card and used a recovery download programme to retrieve them, but couldn't save them without paying for the full programme (I understood it to be a 30 day free trial of the whole programme) only preview them - so I got round it by taking a screen shot!

Little Bird

Good Morning Crafters

I hope you have some exciting plans for the weekend?  I might pop in to Keep on Crafting tomorrow as there is a free demo day but I shall decide in the morning.

In an effort to continue breaking in my uninked stamps I am sharing a card using a Chocolate Baroque set, A Little Bird Told Me.  I have also filmed this card and I would love you to visit my channel.

The tag is cut from a scrap of mop-up when I was making this Izink & Woodware tag.

The bird is stamped on acetate which I have coloured with Izink pigment ink (bottles) in Turquoise, Amethist, Iris, you can see the video creating these backgrounds here.

The brad is from my stash and the white and black cardstock is from Creative Crafting World.
